THE DUST OF THEIR BODIES

My paternal Grandfather "Lee Brainard" served in the Air Force during World War II as a "Ball Turret Tail Gunner" with the 323rd Bomb Group, 453rd Bomb Squadron from 1941 to 1945; he is one of my "heroes".

A few years back, the son of one of my Grandfathers buddies in his squadron wrote about these amazing men and their experiences during World War II.  I've linked his book below.
